GUS: Eviction Drama At Talking Drum Place
The last girl standing Caroline Ukachi Mbanu was a spectacle at The Place of The Talking Drum when the spokesperson for the Council of Elders, Bob-Manuel Udokwu, disclosed that the council would never fail to honour and reward subjects that achieve success and punish those that fail in their daily tasks in the kingdom.
Kunle had earlier in the day been honoured by the Council of Elders for coming first in the day’s challenge. Five of them, including Chukwuma, Atiku, Leke and the last girl standing Caroline participated in the game. It was purely a brain tussle where their knowledge on issues such as past Gulder Ultimate Search series, history of Omo Forest, details about the Gulder brand and personal details of their fellow contestants were put to test.
Caroline ridiculously failed the test; she was chastised by the Council of Elders while the overall winner Kunle was rewarded with a day out at the Tent of Luxury. He chose as his companion for the trip, his buddy in the camp, Chukwuma. The tent of luxury usually offers a five star experience, with sumptuous cuisine and unlimited chilled bottles of Gulder beer while they will also watch good movies on LCD television. The visitors would also be waited on by two pretty damsels clothed in beautiful apparels.
When Caroline failed at the day’s task earlier in the day, she knew very well that her time was up in this risk taking adventurous quest for fame and fortune. She also knew that it can only take the intervention of the gods of the jungle for her to escape eviction.
Therefore, when Bob-Manuel requested her to stand up at the Place of Talking Drum, she was not really perturbed. She was expecting the inevitable. While Bob-Manuel was expressing the disappointment of the elders over her inability to pass a simple task, she kept mum, gazing surreptitiously at the peg being dangled by Bob. As a subject of the kingdom, she knows that whenever the spokesperson of the elders brings out the dreaded peg, it signifies that somebody’s clock must be stopped, and such person must be evicted from the forest immediately. .
But, this evening, the Council of Elders by omission or commission did not give Caroline the peg. To her chagrin, the elders gave the five of them another puzzle to go and solve together in the camp. While others picked their lanterns and set to leave, the obviously petrified Caroline couldn’t go; Bob had to mollify her and repeated what he said subtly before she started moving.
Obviously, the young lady thought Bob was playing games with her; she kept looking back at him suspiciously as she was taking her leave. Mother luck must have smiled oh her, or so she thought.
