The Isheri Oshun Traditional Council of Chiefs in Igando Ikotun Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, has appealed to Governor Babatunde Fashola, to present the staff of office to the Oba-elect of the town, Alhaji Chief Samsudeen Amoo Mojeed.
Also, the four ruling houses, Idowu Asho, Gbeleyi, Ogundeji, Oka and the vice president of Isheri Oshun Indigenous Youth Forum, Chief Mufutau Disu, urged the governor to consider the interest of the people of the town.
They said the presentation of staff of office to the oba-elect will bring more development to the community adding that the ancient town is ripe for a full-fledged monarch.
“All the four kingmakers at Isheri Oshun unanimously elected Chief Samusudeen Mojeed as the oba-elect in a selection which was carried out peacefully and witnessed by the entire community.â€
They added that Mr. Musendiku Iwufele who is from Oke Imoye, a neighboring community parading himself as Baale should be disregarded.
According to them, the man was not known in the community.
“How then can he pronounce himself baale? After the demise of Chief Raufu Dada, the late Baale of Isheri Oshun, the entire community resolved and demand from the state government, the position of Obaship, and we the four kingmakers voted for Alhaji Chief Samsudeen Amoo Mojeed,†they said.
