The basketball themed music video is a contractual agreement between Sprite and MTV  Base to show Nigeria ’s youths at their creative best. It entails each group  showcasing their skill and dexterity in music, dance and basketball.

Each team comprises three basketball players, two dancers and a singer. Street  Maniacs,’ an exciting, enthralling and engaging group from Calabar Zone emerged  champions after a keenly competed grand finale held in Lagos. They thus won N6  million and a recording contract for a basketball-themed music video.

The group was assisted by Eldee who produced the basketball themed music video for  the group. Eldee described them as a group of talented individuals who would  positive impact their immediate community and institution. He described the  production of the music video as challenging but interesting. Clarence Peters shot  and directed the video.

Titled No Fall My Hand, the single, according to music pundits, has the potential of  being a chart buster regardless of the fact that this is the groups’ first outing.  The group is made up of Olubo Olabode- Cross River State University of Technology,   Ichire Nsor- Cross River State University of Technology,  Louis Martins University  of Calabar (Undergraduate), Adegbe Ikwue Adegbe- Federal University of Technology,  Minna (Graduate), Unyime Otuokon Fred- University of Calabar (Graduate) and Ayeabie  Behakongevers-  University of Calabar (Undergraduate). Speaking at the unveiling of the music video, Mr. Austin Ufomba, Marketing Director  Coca-Cola Nigeria said the Sprite Triple Slam is targeted at youths on campuses  across Nigeria and is designed to bring out fresh and out of the box thinking and  best expression of freedom, spark up creativity and to explore the high level of  ingenuity embedded in Nigerian youths.

He stated the video is very inspiring and world class because of the production  quality and that Sprite is supporting the group through the premiere and exposure on  local and satellite TV channels.

Answering questions from brand writers at the presentation of music video and song  event, the ‘Maniacs’ said: “Sprite Triple Slam has given us the platform to display  our talents for the world to see. Sprite surprised us when they came to our  neighbourhood in Calabar. We are ordinary boys who love to play for fun. Sprite  motivated us with N6 million and now has fulfilled the promise of recording our  songs and music video. For us, this is helping us to accomplish our individual and  collective dreams and also providing us a spring board to rule the music scene.  Sprite Triple Slam has automatically created a career platform for us.”

Sprite Triple Slam is a brand activation that combines three fun elements of  basketball, music and dance. It is targeted at connecting Sprite with youths on  campuses across Nigeria with a view to bringing out the creativity and ingenuity in  this group.
