In his remarks at the occasion, Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, said the medical waste programme, just like PSP solid waste management, ”is a success story of Lagos economy of waste to wealth initiative.”

The governor urged everyone to intensify efforts towards increasing awareness and ensuring that all health sector workers and relevant agencies were involved in waste management procedure.

He called on health facilitators in the state to lead in ensuring proper disposal of clinical waste. This, he said, will ensure better healthcare as well as create jobs for hundreds of unemployed youths.
