A burglar, Ayo Kolawale, 23, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Isheri Oke Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Kolawole pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of house breaking, felony and stealing preferred against him by the police and he was sentenced accordingly.
The police prosecutor, Ayo Kolawale, alleged that the accused broke into the house of a complainant, Ayi Daniel and stole his Nokia handset, valued at N9,500.
He also stole one laptop computer valued at N50,000, property of Stanley Ayogbe.
When the charges were read to him, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
The trial magistrate, Mrs. M. I. Dan-Oni, while sentencing Kolawole, noted police claim in the charge sheet that the accused was not a first time offender and that he had been arrested a number of times for burglary.
She sentenced him to jail to serve as a deterrent to others.
