Mother of the two-year old pupil found in a septic tank in a Lagos nursery and primary school has cried out to the authorities to bring those who killed her son to book.
After three weeks of fruitless search, the two-year old boy, Uchechukwu Nwanzo, was found dead in a septic tank in his school, King of King’s Nursery and Primary School, Okota, Lagos State, Nigeria. When the body was removed, the head was missing.
Speaking with P.MN.EWS, the distraught mother of the victim, Mrs. Florence Nwanzo, said she was convinced that her child was killed before he was dumped in the school’s septic tank.
” I want the authorities to intervene in the matter and investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of my son. I also want the culprits punished,” she said.
Narrating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of her child, she said: ”When I went to pick my child from school, he was nowhere to be found but I found his school bag and lunch box in one of the classrooms.”
The matter was immediately reported at the Okota Police Station where the police, assisted by other members of the community launched a manhunt for the missing child.
Three weeks after his disappearance, Uchechukwu’s father received a call from detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Panti, Lagos. They asked him to come to the school and identify a headless body brought out from the school’s septic tank. The detectives told him that the corpse was that of his missing child.
Following the discovery, P.M.NEWS gathered that the detectives arrested the proprietress and members of management of the school and took them to their office at Yaba for investigation.
The matter is still being investigated as at the time of filing this report.
