Nigeria Escapes FIFA’s Axe, As NANF Withdraws Suit Against NFF
There is a ray of hope that the temporary lifting of ban on the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, by the world football governing body, FIFA may be permanent as the suit filed by the National Association of Nigerian Footballers, NANF, against the NFF and its chairman, Alhaji Aminu Maigeri was this morning struck out.
The suit was struck out by Justice Okon Abang sequel to the notice of discontinuance filed by the plaintiff’s lawyer based on an amicable agreement to settle the matter out of court.
FIFA, while announcing Nigeria’s temporary suspension, gave the litigants till today to settle the matter amicably or Nigeria risks an indefinite suspension. FIFA had frowned at Nigeria’s government interference in football administration.
