Chairman, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State, Hon. Demola Doherty, has been commended by different groups in the area for his kind gestures.
The Head Teacher, Ogundimu Primary School, Iju, Mrs. M.O Edun, was full of praises for the council chief for the early completion and release of a block of six classrooms for the use of the pupils, which she described as “a monumental achievement.â€
In his own letter of appreciation to Hon. Doherty, the monarch of Ifako Kingdom, Oba Fatusi Obawole, who was sponsored to Mecca this year by the local council, thanked the council boss for his kindness and assistance to the traditional institution in the area.
The staff of the local government also thanked the Doherty-led administration for the delivery of 11 new Hyundai Accent salon cars to each of the head of departments and units, as official vehicles.
They described the gesture as a way of motivating them for prompt service delivery and productivity.
In his response to the commendations, Hon. Doherty thanked the residents and appealed to them to make themselves available for the coming voter’s registration exercise and ensure that their votes count at the forthcoming general elections.
