Bells University Holds Second Convocation

Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State will on Saturday, 6 November, 2010,  hold its second convocation ceremony for graduating students.

On Friday, 5 November, at the university’s multi-purpose hall, a convocation lecture  titled: ‘Technology, Society and the Ivory Tower’ will be delivered by Professor  Emeritus Oladipo Olajimi Akinkugbe, OFR, NNOM.

A convocation play enttitled: ‘The Trials of Okonkwo’ an adaptation of Chinua  Achebe’s book, ‘Things Fall Apart’ will be performed by the Bellstech Performing  Troupe later in the evening. The play is being anchored and directed by the Centre  for Foundation Education, CENFED, of the university.

Addressing journalists at the pre-convocation news conference of the university  yesterday, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Adebayo Adeyemi, disclosed that the  university recorded excellent performance in the 2010 edition of the Nigerian  Universities Computer Programming Competition organised by the National Mathematics  Centre, Abuja, with the two teams presented by Bellstech coming first and second.

On the impact of the students in the development of technology in Nigeria, Professor  Adeyemi expressed confidence in the ability of his students to excel in the field.

”I have the confidence that when my students go out there with their entrepreneurial  skill and their broad technology exposure, they will excel,” he stated.
