The traditional ruler of Oke Ira in Ojodu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, of Lagos State, Chief (Dr.) Jimoh Bello Aboaba has called on the state government to involve traditional rulers in state affairs because they are much closer to the people at the grassroots.
Making the call at his palace, Aboaba opined that traditional rulers cannot be ignored as they know the needs of the people at the grassroots.
He urged the state government to allow them participate actively in the running of  state affairs and treated better in terms of welfare.
He applauded the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akinolu and the Olu of Ikeja, Oba Raufu Matanmi Amore for their untiring effort and commitment towards the growth and plight of rulers in the state.
While giving kudos to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Rotimi Agunsoye, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kunle Abass and Special Adviser, Olufemi Ifemade among others for their transparency in administering the chieftaincy affairs of the state.
