LOC Seeks Help To Build Tennis Academy

The Local Organising Committee, LOC of the Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship  is reaching out to spirited Nigerians to actualise its dream of building a befitting  tennis academy in Lagos.

The chairman of the LOC, Chief Pius Akinyelure said the government of Lagos State  has given the LOC five hectaresof  land on Lekki Pennisula for the building of an  International Tennis Academy, which runs into billions of naira.

He said that it has been the dream of the management committee of the Governor’s Cup  since inception in 2000 to build a tennis academy where local players will have the  chance of nurturing their careers.

He noted that the academy, when completed will have various facilities that will  make it conducive to host the Governor’s Cup.

According to him, “we want Nigerians both individual and corporate organisations to  partner us so that we can make this project a reality. We cannot do it alone, but  are hopeful that the project will be a reality,” said Chief Akinyelure.
