The Ekiti State government has said it does not plan to redeploy civil servants in the state yet.

A statement from the office of Governor Kayode Fayemi debunked rumours making the rounds that the new government has started mass redeployment of Ekiti workers.

It said that peddlers of the redeployment rumour are men who had been rendered idle because of the new political dispensation in Ekiti State.

According to the statement, the remnants of imposters who were recently flushed out were afraid of their new fate. It stated that Governor Fayemi was still busy receiving briefings about and studying the state of affairs of the ministries, departments and agencies and also the situation on ground.

The statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant, SSA, Media to Governor Fayemi, Mr. Mojeed Jamiu, said the priority of a legitimate government in power now cannot be transfer or redeployment of civil servants.

Jamiu said, rather, the government was desirous of healing the socio-economic wounds which had been inflicted on the people by the workers who are now afraid of their fate.

He implored civil servants in Ekiti to ignore the rantings of those he said once had the opportunity to improve their lives but rather decided to unleash anguish on them.

“We urge the public not to take these people serious,” Jamiu said, adding “Ekiti State government shall run an open and friendly administration that would take care of the civil servants to motivate them to be more efficient and effective in service delivery.”

He advised the rumour peddlers to turn a new leaf and join hands with Governor Fayemi to develop Ekiti State.

The statement added that the new administration in Ekiti is busy and desirous of putting the state back on track  after a derailment of many years.
