The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Abuja on Monday announced the suspension of  its national congress which was earlier scheduled to take place in the first week of November, according to its timetable.
A source said that the date for the congress meeting was postponed due to the ongoing membership registration drive.
The FCT Chairman of ACN, Mr. Sunny Monidafie, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and noted that the shift of date was indefinite.
He, however, said that congress would hold sometime in November.
NAN recalls that the ACN membership registration commenced on Oct. 12, and was to be followed by the ward and state congresses on Nov.1 and Nov. 9, respectively to elect state officers, which would be preceded by its national convention.
The convention would include the party’s constitution amendment to reflect the electoral amendment changes and also unveil the party’s new logo and the presentation of its manifesto.
