Expect More Goals From Me —Nkwocha

After getting a hat trick in Super Falcons Group A opener against Mali at the ongoing South Africa 2010 African Women Championship, AWC yesterday, Perpetua Nkwocha has promised Nigerians that they should expect more goals from her in the course of the tourney.

The hat trick heroine in Super Falcons’ 5-0 drubbing of Mali said she had overcame the torment of the Equatorial 2008 AWC, where she couldn’t find the back of the net. She said that in South Africa 2010 AWC, she is  out to score as many goals as possible.

The former Female African Footballer of the Year Award winner, who spoke on Raypower FM early today disclosed that she was delighted with her performance yesterday.

According to the Swedish Damallsvenskan club Sunnanå SK  forward, “I never knew I was going to be on the scorer’s chart until I scored the three goals.” She added that after scoring three goals in yesterday’s match, her teammates set a 15 goal-target for her at the tournament. “My teammates said I would score 15 goals in this tournament and I claimed it,” she said.

Nkwocha opened scoring in the 15th minute of the one-sided encounter, after she controlled the ball in the 18 yard box of the Malians, ran rings around the goal keeper before slotting in the curtain raiser.
