The airlift of the last batch of Lagos State pilgrims for this year’s Hajj is to be completed today, a spokesperson on Hajj matters, Mrs. Tayo Yusuf, has said.
Yusuf told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos that the transportation of the rest of the pilgrims from Oyo and Osun states to the Holy Land has commenced.
She said that the South-West Commissioner of the Hajj Commission, Alhaja Fatimah Oyekan, was already on ground in Saudi-Arabia to finalise logistics for the operation.
According to her, the zonal coordinator of the Hajj Commission, Alhaji W.O. Mubaraku, would leave on Thursday with other officials and members of the armed forces.
“The zonal coordinator will leave tomorrow with officials of the commission and that is scheduled to be the last flight for the transportation from the Lagos zone,†Yusuf said.
