Mr. Ado Solomon, the Director, National Orientation Agency in Gombe State, has cautioned politicians against using youths to perpetrate violence in the course of their electioneering.
Solomon gave the advice during the presentation of an award to the Chairman, Gombe Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri, as the UN Ambassador of Peace in Gombe State.
He described Gombe as the most peaceful state in the North-East zone and called on politicians to sustain the prevailing atmosphere.
Solomon also called on the people to participate fully in the voters’ registration coming up soon.
The special guest at the occasion, Dr. Martin Dakpogan, of the Universal Peace Federation, a UN body, called on Gombe State to establish a centre for peace so as to unite the people for sustainable development.
Receiving the award, Waziri, who is also the immediate past National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, expressed happiness for the honour done him.
He promised to live up to the expectations of the people.
