Hajj Pilgrims Warned Against Drugs
The oba-elect of Igbo Elerin in Iba Local Council Develoment Area of Lagos State, Alhaji Chief Sikiru Kolawole Ajagungbade Aina has warned all the intending pilgrims to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to avoid the temptation of absconding during their sojourn and steer clear of drug-related acts.
Chief Aina gave the warning at his palace while speaking with intending pilgrims from his domain recently. He admonished them to avoid all acts that could tarnish their image and that of the state in Saudi Arabia.
“I urge you to present yourselves as worthy ambassadors of the state of excellence in the holy land. Most especially, you must shun all drug-related acts as they carry the death penalty in Saudi Arabia for any convicted offender,†the traditional ruler warned.
Aina also urged the intending pilgrims to pray for peaceful co-existence in the state. “It is my prayer that you perform this year’s Hajj peacefully and return home with a clear resolve to sustain and improve the harmony between the two major religions in the state.â€
