The presiding Bishop of the Communion Church, David Benenoch, has urged Nigerians to seize the opportunity of the 2011 elections to set Nigeria finally on the path of progress by turning out to vote and by voting for “leaders with conscience.â€
Benenoch stated this in a press release issued ahead of the 21st Communion Convention tagged “Fast Forward†scheduled to commence on Sunday November 14 and end on Sunday November 21, 2010 at the International Headquarters of the church situated at 2nd Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos.
According to Benenoch, the last four years in Nigeria have been years of slow progress because of the troubles and uncertainties associated with the illness and demise of late President Shehu Musa Yar’adua.
He posited that the next set of elections provide a God-given opportunity for Nigerians to reverse the previous years of stagnation. “And if we drop the ball this time around, we would end up with a whole generation wasted, especially if we add the past 12 years since the return of civil rule,†he said.
