The Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transports Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Akanni Olohunwa, have been urged to, as a matter of urgency, call the former branch chairman of Alimoso Branch H, Ikotun, Lateef Shittu Mogaji, to order to avoid bloody clash in the area.
According to information made available to P.M. News, the former chairman, whose executive was dissolved early this week by the Olohunwa-led state executive, was alleged to have recruited some hoodlums who now terrorise people and union members in the area.
It was further revealed by our source that the suspected thugs stormed the NURTW office yesterday with guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons, shooting sporadically into the air, to scare people in the area.
They therefore appealed to the state chairman to call Mogaji to order to avoid a breakdown of law and order in the area.
Attempt to get the reaction of the state chairman on the issue proved abortive as he could not be reached on phone as at press time.
