Three-time Grammy award winning R&B king, R.Kelly, is set to storm Nigeria for the second time.
P.M. Entertainment learnt that the musician will be visiting Nigeria at the invitation of the Nigerian Breweries Plc for the 2010 edition of Star Mega Jam.
Speaking at the national headquarters of the NB Plc, the Corporate Affairs Adviser, Yussuf Ageni, said the choice of R. Kelly was informed by the desire of the company to sustain the high international profile of the event.
Ageni said: “as you know, this year’s Star Mega Jam coincides with the golden jubilee anniversary of Nigeria’s independence. As a truly Nigerian brand and a co-celebrant with Nigeria, Star rolled out a series of activities to mark this important milestone. This year’s show will also follow in that spirit.â€
Apart from the American music star, top Nigerian artistes, namely P-square, D’banj, Mo-Hits Crew, Faze, MI, Timaya, Sound Sultan, 9ice and Star Quest winners like KC Presh, Diamonds, The Pulse and Juke Box, will also perform at the show holding between 17 and 18 December, 2010 at the Lagos Polo Ground, Ikoyi and the Old Parade Ground, Abuja, respectively.
A source close to the NB Plc told P.M. Entertainment that R. Kelly is so excited about coming to Nigeria that he recently called for the tapes of past editions of Star Mega Jam to enable him prepare for the event.
