The party stalwarts also used the  stakeholders’ meetingto pass vote of confidence  on the leadership of the Lagos East Senatorial District led by Otunba Busura  Alebiosu.

The gathering had in attendance several ACN bigwigs including Leader of the  Senatorial District Otunba Busura Alebiosu; the former Deputy Governor of Lagos  State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Chief Olorunfunmi Bashorun, Senator Anthony Adefuye,  former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Jokotola Pelumi and other  ACN top shots.

Also present at the meeting were National Assembly members from the district.  Senator Olorunnibe Mamora and Hon. Dayo Bush-Alebiousu, a Federal Lawmaker  representing Kosofe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives were also  present.

The party leaders also acknowledged the nationalistic virtues of the party’s  National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying his leadership qualities as a political  icon remain a repository for the political class.

Alebiosu said there can never be division within the ACN as the party remains one,  adding that reports of divisions were figments of the imagination of other political  parties, targeted at distracting ACN from achieving the ultimate goal of being the  party of choice in Lagos State.

Also speaking, Ogunleye and Chief Olorunfunmi Bashorun noted that the gathering was  a manifestation that the party was united and an indication that ACN, being the only  party in Lagos State, would once again be victorious at next year’s elections.

In his remarks, Bush-Alebiosu enjoined party members in the Senatorial District to  ensure that they remained focused and united ahead of next year’s elections.

In his speech, Mamora said the party in the last few days had witnessed the  defection of senators into its fold, saying more people were still coming to join  the ACN because the party could boast that it was the only one with sound democratic  discipline where opinions of all count.

Mamora noted that the people of Lagos State could never vote for any other party  other than ACN because they had witnessed endless transformation of the  socio-political and economic landscape of the state by the administration of  Fashola, hence the call on the governor to take another shot at the race in 2011.
