The Super Falcons of Nigeria are indeed worthy ambassadors of Nigeria at the just concluded Africa Women Championship (AWC) in South Africa.
The Uche Eucharia tutored team did not only win the coveted trophy for the sixth times, but the players swept all the awards at stake in the Championship.

Perpetua Nkwocha who scored 11 goals in the tournament won the Highest Goal Scorer award, Stella Mbachu won the Most Valuable Player, MVP while the Fair Play award also went to Falcons, whose performance gladden the heart of South African football fans throughout the tournament.
Coach Uche Eucharia, who was elated about the team’s performance against their opponents in the final said her players deserved to sweep the awards at the expense of other teams.
“We came here to win and we won,†said Eucharia who rated her team the best in Africa.
In his own remarks, Equatorial Guinea coach, Jean-Paul Mpila, lamented the two own goals his team conceded in an exciting final.  “We are disappointed to have lost this match because we came to win. The two own goals we conceded due to the strong wind hurt us,†he moaned.
