The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ijoko branch and residents in the area have cried out over the deplorable condition of road in Plaza junction.
ACOMORAN chairman, Mr. Mathew Ojelabi, his vice, Mr. Muhammed Oseni and the residents have appealed to Ado Odo/Ota local government and councillor of the area to find a lasting solution to the road that has been causing a lot of untold hardship to road users and the community.
This, according to them, will alleviate the suffering of the people living in the area as the road serves as the major link between Sango-Ota and Ijoko town.
The bad portion of the road at Plaza junction, according to them, had forced many motorists to abandon the route and seek alternative routes to their various destinations.
They urged the council not to wait for the state government to repair the road, saying Okada riders are law abiding citizens, who have been paying their levies daily to the council.
“There was a time we contributed money together with Cab Owners Association and sand-filled the area. We cannot do it alone now because of the money involved, so we need the assistance of the council,†they echoed.
Some of the residents who spoke with Lagos Bulletin, said Sango-Ota is the industrial nerve centre of Ogun State and as such, government and the council should perform their civic responsibility to the community.
When Lagos Bulletin visited the council to seek the opinion of some officials on the issue, one of them, who does not want his name in print, said the affected road belongs to the Federal Government.
