Lagos AATREN, Others Remember Oba Elegushi
Exactly one year ago, one of the foremost monarchs in Lagos State, Oba Yekinni Adeniyi Elegushi, Kusenla II, the Elegushi of Ikateland in Eti Osa area of the state, joined his ancestors.
Remembering him, the Association of African Traditional Religion, Nigeria and Overseas (AATREN), Lagos State chapter, led by Chief Olusegun Elegushi, the Opemoluwa of Ikateland, is organising a special memorial in honour of the departed monarch.
The event, slated for today at Ikateland, is expected to be graced by dignitaries from all walks of life including white cap chiefs, Odofin, Eletu, Olisa, Aro, Olowa and Alaawe as well as key members of AATREN, among them, the 2nd Vice Chairman, Chief (Mrs.) Foluso Adeogun-Oga, who also is the Yeye Osun of Lagos Mainland, among others.
Born on 10 April, 1940, the late Oba Yekinnin Elegushi was installed the 20th Elegushi of Ikateland on 23 June, 1991 and died during a brief illness exactly a year ago.
