Australian based Nigerian born world rated welterweight, Wale Omotoso (17-0, 15 KOs)  will return to the ring on 26 November when he will clash with Juan Albert Godoy (  25-12-1, 10 KOs) over twelve rounds with the International Boxing Federation, IBF  Pan Pacific title up for grabs at the Knox Netball Center in Ferntree Gully,  Victoria, Australia.

Omotoso scored his most impressive win over former world rated Emanuel Augustus when  he stopped the classy American in nine rounds in 2009. Augustus also lost in nine  rounds to boxin’s best pound for pound boxer, Floyd Mayweather. In 2009, he defeated  well credentialed Korean Hwan-Young Park (24-3) by KO in three rounds.

Omotoso, who is ranked number 14, is focused on a world title shot against Jan  Zaveck but is expecting a tough fight against Godoy.

“Godoy has met some world class opponents like Serhiy Fedhenko, Carlos Vilches and  Andriy Kotenik who he pushed to a decision,” said promoter Murray Thomson. “I am  sure Wale can beat the best in the welterweight division including the IBO champion  Lovemore Ndou who is based in Australia.”

Thomson continued, “Ndou is very good but he’s also 39 years old and I think Omotoso  would defeat him. Omotoso’s boxing agent is the respected Las Vegas based Samson  Lewkowitz and we are looking for a shot at the IBF champion in 2011.”

The promoter is former Australian amateur champion Murray Thomson.
