The LAGBUS Asset Management Limited, operators of the red buses in Lagos State, South West Nigeria says it has employed the services of over 2, 300 drivers and conductors directly and indirectly in the last three years.
Managing Director, LAGBUS, Mr. Babatunde Disu, who disclosed this while reviewing the on-going management staff training for senior staff of the agency, said the Lagos State Government relied on the organisation to drive its vision of employment generation.
He added that the company would continue to provide equal opportunities for Lagosians as it expanded its bus services to other routes in the state.
He explained that the training was aimed to equip the staff with skills to enhance their performance and to make its senior staff appreciate the enormity of the job performed by those employed as bus captains in driving the red buses along the over 50 routes operated by the bus company.
Disu, however, cautioned interested candidates against giving money out of desperation to anyone that promise to secure jobs for them as bus captains in the company.
“We recruit through three agencies to enable qualified human resources specialists to select the best candidates for us. “No one has been mandated by us to collect money from interested candidates and none of our trainees is expected to pay training fee to anyone,†he said.
The LAGBUS boss, therefore, advised prospective applicants to immediately report anyone demanding any form of gratification from them to facilitate employment into the bus company through the company’s customer service number 07026524287 or 07026LAGBUS or send an email to [email protected].
