The LAGBUS Asset Management Limited, operators of the red buses in Lagos State,Â South West Nigeria says it has employed the services of over 2, 300 drivers andÂ conductors directlyÂ and indirectly in the last three years.
Managing Director, LAGBUS, Mr. Babatunde Disu, who disclosed this while reviewingÂ the on-going management staff training for senior staff of the agency, said theÂ Lagos State Government relied on the organisation to drive its vision of employmentÂ generation.
He added that the company would continue to provide equal opportunities forÂ Lagosians as it expanded its bus services to other routes in the state.
He explained that the training was aimed to equip the staff with skills to enhanceÂ their performance andÂ to make its senior staff appreciate the enormity of the jobÂ performed by those employed as bus captains in driving the red buses along the overÂ 50 routes operated by the bus company.
Disu, however, cautioned interested candidates against giving money out ofÂ desperation to anyone thatÂ promise to secureÂ jobsÂ for them as bus captains in theÂ company.
â€œWe recruit through three agencies to enable qualified human resources specialistsÂ to select the bestÂ candidates for us.Â â€œNo one has been mandated by us to collectÂ money from interested candidates andÂ none of our trainees is expected to payÂ training fee to anyone,â€ he said.
