A former Senior Special Assistant to ex-Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Commerce and Industry, Mr Lanre Bamigboye, has tasked elected and appointed government officials to square up to the challenges of office.
Speaking with journalists in Lagos, he lamented the lack of impact of most of these officials on the citizenry.
This, he reasoned, was far from ideal as the officials were put in office as representatives of the people.
Bamigboye, who is contesting for Mushin II Constituency seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly urged them to rededicate themselves to duty, so that the citizenry’s perception of government officials will change positively.
He added that government efforts at generating internal revenue will equally achieve better results.
He said the people of Mushin Local Government were particularly impressed with the performance of the Fashola administration so far.
According to him, since taking over from Tinubu, the governor has continued his predecessor’s record of performance. Similarly, the House of Assembly aspirant lauded the efforts of Dr Muiz Banire, the Environment Commissioner, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, describing them as worthy ambassadors.
