Karate Federation of Nigeria, KFN has concluded plans to organise the Karate National Open Championship in Abia State.
The championship will hold from 5-12 December at the Aba Township Stadium, Abia State, Nigeria.
Over 200 athletes are expected to participate in the seven-day championship.
Secretary of the Federation, Iyaluegbeghe Clement, told P.M.Sports that the championship will help the federation to assess the athletes that will represent the country at the forthcoming All Africa Games holding in Mozambique next year.
He urged the participants to give their best, saying that only the best athletes will be selected for camping.
“The national coaches will use this championship to select the best players that will be invited to camp for the All Africa Games.
“That’s why we are throwing the competition open to all and sundry to enable the coaches get the best they want,†he said
The scribe disclosed that during the championship, there will be a technical course for the participating coaches .
