An elderly man of about 70 years old yesterday survived an accident along side his younger brother, his driver and a young boy that was in the vehicle with them.
The accident occurred along Sagamu Benin Expressway, about 70 metres to Sagamu, when the Tyre of the vehicle in which the elderly man was travelling burst.
The man, identified as Chief V.I.M. Onyenorah said: “We are travelling from Imo State to Lagos State where we went for a party during the weekend.
” I was in the vehicle with my younger brother, Engr. Cosmas Onyenorah, my driver and one of my workers. What I could recollect was that I heard the sound of the tyre when it burst and my driver was swerving here and there, trying to control the vehicle.
“Before the accident, on our way to Lagos I dreamt that the vehicle somersaulted and I prayed to God to avert it. Thank God, no person died.â€
The vehicle, Prado Jeep, Golden colour with Lagos State registration number GY 571 AAA, which summersaulted, was found in the bush. The vehicle was loaded with coolers, plates and other utensils that were used for the party.
Meanwhile, a good Samaritan, Mr. Emma Yemi Ademisure, with a Toyota Pick-up van that has registration number FJ02LSR drove them to their hospital in Lagos .
It was reported that the accident occurred because the driver was over speeding.
