Harry Redknapp has urged Tottenham to secure qualification for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League with a game to spare.

Spurs have two matches remaining in Group A but need just one victory to clinch a top-two finish after moving top with a famous 3-1 win over Inter Milan last time out.

Redknapp does not want the trip to FC Twente next month to be a decider as Spurs will be in the middle of a difficult and hectic run of Premier League fixtures.

He is therefore determined to pick up three points against Werder Bremen at White Hart Lane in midweek.

“That group is still wide open. We need results; we need a result on Wednesday,” he said.

“You don’t want to be going into the last game away to Twente needing to win the game to get through the group.

“We need to put it to bed if we can on Wednesday at home.

“We go to Birmingham, Liverpool coming up. Big games coming up.”

Spurs are level on seven points with Inter but have the edge due to their head-to-head record, while Twente have five points and Bremen just two.

The German side also have injury problems, with Claudio Pizarro, Clemens Fritz, Naldo, Sebastian Boenisch and Tim Borowski all sidelined.

However, Bremen need to win at White Hart Lane and Redknapp is wary of the threat they will present.
