Igbobi Junior High School, Igbobi in Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos State,. Nigeria will hold its 21stInter-House Sports Championship on 9 December at the Angus Memorial sports ground, Igbobi, Lagos.
The schools’s Sports Master, Samuel Ajayi Dawodu told P.M.Sports that the aim of the tournament is to discover sporting talent in the students.
“We want to make the school sports an avenue to create cordial and good interaction between the teachers, students, parents and other stakeholders of the school,†said Dawodu, who is also the chairman, technical committee of the Traditional Sports Federation of Nigeria.
According to Dawodu, the heat of the inter house sports will be held on 5 December to pick the athletes that will compete in the one day sports tourney, where at least 30 events will be competed for.
“We have invited a lot of people to grace the occasion, among whom are Hon. Rotimi Olowo, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Akeem Sulaimon Omoleye, the chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Hon. Ademorin Kuye, Secretary, East Senatorial District, Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Sulaimon, the vice-chairperson, Somolu Model Market and all Principals of schools within and around Somolu,†he said.
