Lawyer's Son Sent To Kirikiri Prison

The eldest son of a Lagos lawyer, Adeyinka Olalekan, 37, has been sent to Kirikiri Prison, Apapa, Lagos State Nigeria for allegedly fighting in a beer palour.

Adeyinka was alleged to have gone to a beer parlour at 60 Idimu Road, Egbeda, Lagos State with his friend, Ayodele Badewole, 39 and then they got drunk and started fighting. The duo was said to have destroyed the properties of Mrs. Nnofor Evangelist during the fight.

Their misconduct has landed them in prison custody, as they were arrested and charged to Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court for breach of peace.

The offence, the police said, was contrary to section 83, and 451 of the criminal code cap 17 vol.2 law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

When they were arraigned before the court, they pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The presiding magistrate, Mrs. M.B Folami, granted them bail with the sum of N25,000 with one responsible surety.

They were ordered to be remanded at the prison custody until they meet the bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till13, December, 2010.

The father of Adeyinka could not control his emotion. He broke downin tears as Adeyinka was taken to the prison.
