A commercial motorcyclist popularly known as Okada rider, Adebayo Rasak, 21, has been docked at an Ogudu magistrates court in Lagos charged with dangerous driving and causing the death of a woman, Folake Kolawole,58.
In a three count charge, the police prosecutor, ASP Eyo Owai alleged that Adebayo Rasak rode one Yamaha Motorcycle with registration number QS 464 AKD in a dangerous manner and without a driver’s license.
The police in charge number OG/117/2010 added that the defendant of Folake Kolawole. The offences he claimed were committed on 7 November, 2010 at about 1020 a.m at Tipper Garrage area, Ketu, Lagos.
The police said the offences are punishable under sections 28, 7, (1) 27 of the Road Traffic law cap 172 Vol.7 laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 1994.
When the charges were read to him, he pleaded not guilty.
The trial magistrate, Mrs. Y.O. Aje Afunwa granted him bail in the like sum N100,000 with two sureties in the like sum and one of the surety must be his blood relation who must produce an evidence of house rent, payment of tax payment to the Lagos State.
The matter has been adjourned till 20 November, 2010 for mention.
