Hundreds of traders on Lagos Island market, Idumota yesterday closed their shops and embarked on fasting and praying for the success of 2011 general election.
The one-day crusade organised by the members of the market fellowship was well attended by many ministers of God from different churches in Lagos State.
The coordinator, Rev. (Dr.) Oliver Nnadika, said that the purpose of the crusade titled Freedom and Peace For All was to seek Godâ€
Rev. Nnadika explained that it is necessary for Nigerians to seek the face of the Lord in choosing the best leader that will set us free and make us live in peace and harmony, while acknowledging that many families have been living in bondage.
Also, the deputy coordinator, Pastor Linus Emedo, said that the time has come for God to intervene in the affairs of Nigeria, adding that with prayers the condition of Nigerians will surely change for good.
Prophet John Omamuwo, who represented the guest speaker, Rev. (Dr.) Sam Ogedengbe, Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor, commended the traders for organising the crusade.
He told them that since they thought it was proper to organize such event to seek the face of God, he assured them that the peace and freedom will surely visit them in their affairs.
