The people of Agboroko town, in Iba local council development area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria now have cause to smile.
Recently, at an impressive ceremony High Chief Alabi Isimala Rahmon was installed as new traditional ruler, Baale, of the town by the monarch of Oniba, Ekun of Iba land, Oba Yushau Goriola Oseni.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS at the ceremony, Chief Rahmon gave thanks to God for his ascension.
“I thank almighty God for the rarest opportunity and privilege. I thank the Governor of Lagos State, Barrister Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, the Oniba Ekun of Iba land, Oba Goriola Oseni, the council boss, Hon. Toyin Suarau, my family and the entire community.
“They are my defenders and we have benefited from the state governor through the construction of Agboroko Igbo Elerin road and the dualization of LASU Ojo Iba road,†he stated.
He solicited for the support of his subjects, promising to rule with the fear of God adding that understanding and peaceful coexistence would characterized his tenure.
He enjoined all indigenes, home and abroad, to assist in bringing development to Agboroko, while appealing to Governor Fashola and the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo to put adequate security measures in place at Oko Efo along Lagos State University, LASU gate over the incessant killing of innocent people by persons suspected to be ritualists.
