Veteran comic actress, Mrs. Aduke George, 69, popularly known as Mama Sala is dead.
She died at her Ikara, Ijebu-Mushin home at about 3 a.m. on Saturday.
P.M.NEWS gathered that she died after complaining of pains in her body earlier in the day.
According to one of her aids, Mrs. Adebusola, “when she complained of pains, we gave her medication but she later died at the early hours of Saturday”.
Mrs. Adebusola further stated that Mama Sala’s burial arrangement will be officially released in January, 2011.
P.M.NEWS gathered prior to her death, Mama Sala had chronic sight problem and she hardly see.
“The problem with her sight started last year when she lost her only child, Bunmi. She cried so much and later had sight problem,” Mrs. Adebusola added.
Mama Sala’s death came a few weeks to when the Federal Government commenced arrangements to award her as one of the country’s unsung heroines.
A source disclosed that she will still be honoured with the award posthumously.
The late mama Sala was among the veterans that popularised stage acting and comedy in the 80s and early 90s in Nigeria.
