Deacon Taiwo Joshua, the Assistant Secretary General, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Badagry chapter, arrested for alleged arms possession, has regained his freedom on bail.

A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent in Badagry sighted Joshua in the ancient town at the weekend.

Frank Mba, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos Command, confirmed Joshua’s release on bail.

“The suspect is only on bail and that does not mean he has been released or that the charges against him have been dropped. And it does not mean he has been absolved of all the complicity,” he said.

Mba said that investigation into the case was continuing.

Joshua and three others were arrested by a vigilance group at Ajara Vetho, near Badagry, on the eve of Eid-el-Kabir for allegedly being in possession of a gun and 13 rounds of ammunition.
