Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government of Ogun State, South West Nigeria held its first economic summit at the Gateway Hotel, Ota.
Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, was represented by his deputy, Alhaja Salmot Badru. Also in attendance was the state Commissioner for Local Government, Aare Tunde Adewumi Alabi.
The chief host and chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota LGA, Chief Abayomi Tella, welcomed participants to the one-day event.
The chairman of the occasion was Adele (regent) of Olu of Ilaro and Chairman Oodua Chamber of Commerce and Industry, High Chief Jas Kayode Oyekan.
Presentation of the first paper was by the guest speaker who is the Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, Prof. Aize Obayan, while the keynote address was delivered by the Deputy Governor, Alhaja Badru, on behalf of the governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
During the second session, the Economic Adviser to the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Yosola Akanbi, presented the second paper of the summit.
Later, questions and contributions were entertained.
The summit also went into group discussions, while the coordinator of the event gave the vote of thanks.
Other personalities at the summit included prominent industrialists and political leaders including the Asiwaju of Aworiland, Senator Ayo Otegbola, traditional rulers, the Olota of Ota, Oba Alani Oyede Arolagbade (II) who was the Royal Father of the day.
