The Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mr. Oladele Adekanye, has praised the Court of Appeal for declaring the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate in Osun State, Engr. Rauf Aregbesola, as the winner of the April 2007 governorship election in the state.
Adekanye said that just as it happened in Edo, Ondo and Ekiti states, the judgment was a clear indication that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man.
According to him, the judgment showed that the ACN candidate was able to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt with the avalanche of evidence he presented before the court.
“I want to congratulate Governor Rauf Aregbesola on his victory which shows that justice will always triumph if followed to the logical conclusion,†he said.
He, however, advised the new governor to move fast in the execution of programmes that will develop the state rapidly and showcase the huge difference between the PDP-led government and an ACN-led government, noting that by reason of his performance, the people of Osun State should be able to see clearly that a new dawn has arrived in the state, one of transparent and accountable governance, supremacy of the rule of law, speedy development of human, capital and public infrastructure.
