The CEO of Fut Conceptus Manufacturing Nigeria Limited, Olumide Wole-Madariola, a security expert and entrepreneur, says his company is impressed with the level of patronage by Nigerians, adding that the company did not expect that Nigerians would buy locally made footwear branded Made In Nigeria.
The company also disclosed that it will start the production of rain boots to complete its leather and production line. The CEO commended the efforts of the Federal Government in developing local content policy in the country, explaining that the policy will be of great benefit to the company when it takes effect.
A few years after it made a grand entry into the shoe making industry in Nigeria and attained the feat of the largest shoe making company in Africa, Fut Conceptus Manufacturing Nigeria limited has continued to further establish itself as the largest shoe factory in Africa.
The shoe manufacturing company which makes male, female and children’s shoes including bags, belt and other leather products has been attracting the attention of government agencies and distributors abroad.
At the last check, the National Youth Service Commission (NYSC), Ministry of Defence (MOD), Nigerian Navy, including schools and security companies have all in touch with the company reputed to be the largest shoe-manufacturing company in Africa.
.At the moment, the company exports shoes to countries like the United Kingdom, Sierra-Leone, Germany and Ivory Coast. Madariola revealed that 99 per cent of the raw materials in the production of shoe soles are in Port-Harcourt untapped. He said: “We still import everything for our production whereas we can get all these resources here in Nigeria.†He however disclosed that his company is in discussion with Eleme Petrochemicals to help develop the raw materials for its production activities.
