A man , Paul Enwerem, has been arrested by the police at Igando Division for allegedly hiding some sticks of cigarette in a loaf of bread to give to his friend detained in the cell.
Paul, 38, bought the bread, sliced it and filled it with the item and went to the station to pass it to his friend, Alfred.
But the police woman on duty suspected the bread and ordered him to open and taste it.
He was reluctant but later opened it and the item was found in it. He was immediately arrested and charged to Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court.
When the the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty and the magistrate, Mrs. M. B. Folami, granted him bail in the sum of N20,000 with one responsible surety.
