A staff of Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC), Tijani Muritala, 33, has been charged with conspiracy and stealing before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Francis Igbinosa, docked the suspect on a three-count charge of felony, conspiracy and stealing.
According to the police, the suspect stole 174 rolls of shrink wrapper nylon valued at N2.9 million, property of NBC.
Muritala was also accused of sending an e-mail with intent to steal the wrapper  nylons.
The police said the offences are punishable under Sections 516, 396, 467 of the Criminal Code Cap C17 Vol. II Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
When the charges were read to him, he pleaded not guilty.
The trial magistrate, Mrs. A. F. O. Botoku, admitted him to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must make two years tax payment to the Lagos State government.
The case has been adjourned till 14 December, 2010 for mention.
