A staff of Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC), Tijani Muritala, 33, has been chargedÂ with conspiracy and stealing before an Ikeja Magistrateâ€™sÂ Court in Lagos.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Francis Igbinosa, docked the suspect on aÂ three-count charge of felony, conspiracy and stealing.
According to the police, the suspect stole 174 rolls of shrink wrapper nylon valuedÂ at N2.9 million, property of NBC.
Muritala was also accused of sending an e-mail with intent to steal the wrapperÂ Â nylons.
The police said the offences are punishable under Sections 516, 396, 467 of theÂ Criminal Code Cap C17 Vol. II Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
When the charges were read to him, he pleaded not guilty.
The trial magistrate, Mrs. A. F. O. Botoku, admitted him to bail in the sum ofÂ N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must make two years tax payment to theÂ Lagos State government.
The case has been adjourned till 14 December, 2010 for mention.
