Robbery Suspect Remanded In Prison

An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos has ordered a robbery suspect, Kabiru Sulaiman, 20, to be remanded in Kirikiri Prison over a two-count charge of felony and armed robbery.

gathered that Kabiru and others, now at large, were caught by policemen on patrol while they were robbing some motorists at 45, Nnobi Street, Surulere, Lagos.

According to the police prosecutor, Sergeant Francis Igbinosa, while armed with one locally made pistol, they robbed one Mrs. Adetoun Adediran of 45, Nnobi Street, Kilo bus stop, Surulere, Lagos, of her wristwatch valued at N10,000, one BlackBerry handset valued at N41,000 and N2,000 cash.

The trial magistrate, Mrs. Omoyemi, ordered the court to remand him in prison while the case was adjourned till 13 December, 2010.
