Ifo Local Government Chairmanship aspirant on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Hon. Mutiu Sunday Bankole has urged eligible Nigerians to participate in the forthcoming voters registration exercise which is slated for January 2011.

He asked the people to troop out to register in the exercise so that they can vote massively for the ACN in 2011.

Bankole said “it is when you register and you vote that you become an active participant in the politics of the country.”

He congratulated Engr. Aregbesola on his victory at the Appeal Court last Friday in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“I also take this opportunity to rejoice with our great party, ACN. Its visionary leaders and all progressive in Nigeria on this glorious victory. We begin to grapple with the reality of ensuring that the votes of the electorate, rather than the cash of a self cabal counts,” he said.

Bankole said further that Aregbesola’s victory was for all democrats who have refused to be cowed by intimidation from election riggers who have long held Nigeria to ransom and whose lack of vision is the main reason Nigeria continues to suffer from extreme poverty.

“It is heartwarming that Yorubaland is being gradually liberated from the stranglehold of the PDP and its chieftains who have for so long enslaved the people by denying them of the leaders they have willing chosen through their votes.”

“There is no doubt that the wind of change that is blowing across the southwest, and indeed Nigeria, will sweep through Ogun State and remove the corrupt and inept government of Otunba Gbenga Daniel and the ruling PDP in the forthcoming general election in the state,” he prayed.
