Hon. Bolaji Ayinla Yusuf, who is aspiring to represent Mushin 02 Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has taken the current occupier of the position to the cleaners, describing him as a ‘sidon look legislator’ who has done little or nothing to bring the dividends of democracy to the people of the area.

The Lagos lawmaker who recently submitted his letter of intention to vie for the House of Reps position, added that the lawmaker only went to Abuja to add to the population of the legislators at the lower chamber.

He assured that he will fight to ensure that the dividends of democracy and federal government presence is felt in the area if he is elected as a member of the National Assembly.

“I have not, and the people of my constituency have not, felt the impact of the lawmaker currently representing them at the National Assembly. They have not felt the federal government presence in terms of education, health and infrastructure. What the constituency demands is better representation hence my decision to offer myself for service to the people.

“Legislature is all about lobbying, it is about pure advocacy. You must be able to talk, you must be able to challenge, defend and work tirelessly for your people to secure their needs. But in a situation whereby you have a ‘sidon and look’ representative, you won’t be able to enjoy the dividends of democracy,” said BYA as he is fondly called.

Presenting his score card in his book titled My Legacy, BYA, who is the chairman of House Services in the Lagos State House of Assembly, said his footprint in the sand of time is an enduring one, which can never be displaced but embraced by all.

“I met with organised private sector, community leaders, youths associations, pressure groups, union bodies in a bid to give a responsible, responsive and accountable representation. I was and will always be in tune with the constituency,” he pledged.

He said that his legacy was not put in print because he wanted to rest on his oars but as a catalogue for more selfless service powered by sensible, fruitful and resonate representation at Abuja.
