Music lovers are in for a swell time at the 2010 edition of Star Mega Jam, Star Lager-sponsored international music concert, as the organisers have promised adequate security arrangement at both locations to ensure a hitch-free concert.
According to the Star brand team, this year’s edition featuring American R & B star, R Kelly, may just be the best in terms of organisation, following the success recorded in the last three editions.
Mr. Tony Agenmonmen, Marketing Manager, Lager of Nigerian Breweries Plc, said “the security of music lovers that leave the comfort of their homes to attend Star Mega Jam is always paramount to us as organisers. The security arrangement we have put in place this year is water tight. Security arrangement deplored at recent editions of Star Mega Jam has been commendable. I would like to say that we have even raised the bar this time around, especially given the status of the international act that will headline this year’s show.â€
American R & B superstar, R. Kelly, is the star performer and will be joined on stage by the likes of P-square, Dbanj, 9ice, Faze and other Nigerian superstars.
Agenmonmen stated that the company is anticipating a record crowd turnout as a result of the buzz and excitement generated by this year’s Star Mega Jam’s guest artiste.
Venues of this year’s concert are the Polo Ground in Lagos and the Old Parade Ground, Abuja.
According to Agenmonmen, there are designated car parks for visitors at the venues, which will be manned by well briefed security officials, to provide security for people’s cars.
He, however, advised visitors to obey the instructions of officials at the designated car parks. He stated further that Star reserved the right of entry into the venues, adding that security officials at the various entrances would conduct searches on attendees, using metal detectors as well as patting them down.
Even though Star Lager and other beverages produced by Nigerian Breweries would be available for consumption by the crowd that comes to witness the show, bottles would not be allowed near the venue.
Instead, drinks would be served only in disposable cups.
