Hakeem Bamgbola, chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, has hailed the judiciary over the nullification of the verdict that brought Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into power, and commended its decision in declaring the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate, Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola as governor of the state.
Addressing reporters recently at the council secretariat, Hon. Bamgbola stated that the judgement is a landmark victory for both the party and democracy in Nigeria, “and coming on the heels of the party’s victory in Ekiti State, the judiciary has once again testified that they are the last hope of the common man,†he said.
The council boss called on Nigerians to vote out the ailing PDP and cast their votes for the Action Congress of Nigeria in the 2011 general elections, because “the PDP does not have anything more to offer Nigerians. It will take a great change to restore this nation to what it was in the past, and only ACN can effect this change”.
