Chief Coach of Union Bank Table Tennis Club, Samson Ajayi, says his players are ready to take all their opponents to the cleaners in this year’s Aso-Oju Oba Table Tennis Championship.
The annual table tennis tourney, sponsored by sports philanthropist, Dr Molade okoya Thomas, will hold between 13-17 December at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Indoor Hall, Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos State.
Ajayi told PM Sports that his players are in good frame of mind to confront any player or teams in this year’s edition.
Ajayi, fondly called by his admirer Ope Iya Saka, said he is satisfied with the level of preparedness of the players in camp and it will be hard for any individual or teams to beat his team in the championship.
“I am absolutely confidence in the ability of my players. We are coming to the championship as a club not as an individual and I am satisfied with the spirit of the players in camp. My players always dominate Aso Oju Oba every year and I am sure that this year will not be different,†Ajayi said.
Among the Union Bank players expected in the championship are Ganiyu Ashimiyu, Gbenga Ajulo, Sarafa Adelake, Sunday Odunlade, Ganiyat Olatunde and Rashidat Ogundele.
In the same vein, Team Manger of the club, Olowolajuogbon Jacob, thanked the management for their support on the team. He charged the players to remain steadfast and focused, saying the management will continue to support the players if they can excel in the championship.
