Unless something urgent is done, a portion of the median where some motorists make illegal U-turn around Adura bus stop along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, may pose a danger to unsuspecting motorists and other road users.
Lagos Bulletin learnt that the median was removed sometimes in September this year following heavy traffic occasioned by flood in the area.
It was also learnt that the illegal U-turn has led to the death of many people as motorists, especially commuter vehicle drivers are always impatient when making the illegal U-turn in the said place in order to avoid being arrested by law enforcement agents.
Mr. Adebakin Koyejo, in a chat with Lagos Bulletin, urged the Federal Road Maintainance Agency (FERMA) and the Ministry of Works, Lagos State, to save the residents of the area and other motorists from being killed or maimed by blocking the illegal U-turn to reduce accident cases in the area.
Mr. Gbenga Balogun, another resident of the area also called on the Lagos State government to find lasting solution to the problem before it caused more havock to the residents of the area.
It was gathered that a truck crushed a school van while trying to make a U-turn at the spot recently.
