A lawmaker representing Lagos Island Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House ofÂ Assembly, Mr. Olawale Alawiye-King, has expressed sadness over the death of Mrs.Â Clara Oshiomhole, wife of Edo State governor.
In a statement, Alawiye-King described the late Mrs. Oshiomhole as a heroine ofÂ justice and a strong supporter of the rule of law, recalling her rock-solid supportÂ for her husband in his days of his struggle to reclaim his stolen mandate in EdoÂ State.
The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Education, noted thatÂ Nigerians will not forget in a hurry her contributions towards addressing mortalityÂ rate through her Health Foundation for Maternal and Child Care initiative, aimed atÂ providing quality healthcare for pregnant women and the girl-child.
â€œOn behalf of myself, my family, the good people of Lagos Island Constituency 1 andÂ Lagos State in general, I pray Almighty Allah to grant repose to her soul and giveÂ the Oshiomhole family, the people of Edo State and the entire nation the fortitudeÂ to bear the irreparable loss,â€ Alawiye-King said in the statement.
